Accelerated Readers- Our students now have the added benefit of locating books according to their reading levels.  The books are coded with dots to help them choose a book that will be beneficial to their levels; both level appropriate and challenging!   This helps them meet success.

This year, 2012-13, Scholastic Book Fairs  will be coming to Cabaniss Elementary! We will have a Book Fair in October and another one in March!  Parents, please plan on joining your child/children for breakfast or lunch one day and come in to browse.

Nights with Ms. Nancy will again be coming to Cabaniss, but we will have a few changes! The schedule is as follows- and note, if you have a sibling in another grade level, you can join their night and they can join your night!

October 18th- It's First Grade Night!  Topic:  Nocturnal Animals!

November 15th- It's Fourth Grade Night! Topic:  Phases of the Moon

January 31st- It's Second Grade Night!  Topic:  Penguins

February 28th- It's PRE-K and Kinder Night! Topic:  Snow

April 4th- It's Third Grade Night!  Topic:  The Rain Forest!

Library Information & Book Checkout Policy

Our Cabaniss Cowboys can check-out books from grades K - 4. PreK students may also check out when an adult joins them in the process.  Kinder - 2nd grade students pick one book per visit.  Please come in and get a new book often.  The students may renew their books if they haven't finished them.  After winter break, the 2nd grade students join the 3rd and 4th graders in choosing two books:  one fiction book and one non fiction book.

PLEASE  take good care of your books so that other friends may read them. REMEMBER our motto to keep our books safe:

                IT GOES IN MY BACKPACK!
