Mini-Mentors with a Major impact
One of our goals at Cabaniss is to provide an opportunity and support for student leadership. The mini-mentor program was started several years ago to allow 4th-grade students the venue to help younger students in our school academically and experience opportunities to shine as role models for their peers.
During the process to become a mini-mentor, 4th-grade students write and present a resume to the committee. They then have an interview with staff members. Those selected for this opportunity are assigned Kindergarten students to help during the scheduled time.
This year the following students are our mini-mentors: Chelsea Anakwuo, Jayla Bledsoe, Alexandra Butts, Joseph Coffeen, Marley Courtney, Nallely Jaimez, Samantha Monje, Nathan Salazar, Anna Steltzlen, and Logan Valdez. Congratulation to these great students and we look forward to a successful mentoring season.
Our sponsors for the mini-Mentors are Mrs. Brigance, Mrs. Stoker, and Mrs. Williams. We want to thank these excellent educators for going the extra mile for our students.
